Home building is based on both skill and design. While Hawkeye Custom Homes has skillfully refined the construction process, it is the client's individual creativity that makes each home's design unique, and those variables warrant special attention during the home-building process. A big challenge is to keep the construction schedule on track. Many unforeseen factors, such as, material backorders, inclement weather and labor shortages could cause delays, despite our best efforts.
Hawkeye Custom Homes is committed to building your home with minimal setbacks; however, it should be expected that challenges will occur at some point during the construction process. You help minimize the potential for delays by making your selections and upgrades in a timely fashion, within the agreed upon time frame. This will aid in minimizing any inconvenience to you. We will schedule meetings throughout the construction with you and your sales representative to provide information and answer any questions you may have.
A presentation will be scheduled with you and your sales representative shortly after you sign the sales agreement to explain the details of the construction process. A walkthrough prior to sheet rock installation will be the next scheduled meeting. We will review pre-construction modifications to your home and verify that all changes have been completed as intended. It is critical that any changes and modifications to the floor plan are in place prior to the start of construction. The next meeting scheduled will occur when your home is nearing completion. You may ask your sales representative to schedule additional meetings anytime, if necessary, and please do not hesitate to do so. We consider your sales representative a valuable team member, and asset to the entire process.
A second walkthrough is scheduled approximately 2 weeks prior to closing to introduce you to the features of your home, explain our customer service commitment and inspect the finish quality. We ask that you allow construction personnel to completely finish all details prior to this meeting. At this time we will document any concerns or questions and ensure their resolution prior to our next and final meeting.
The final walkthrough will typically be scheduled within 2 weeks after the buyer walkthrough, with closing usually occurring within a couple days. After the final walkthrough, Hawkeye Custom Homes requires your authorization of an affidavit of acceptance for your home prior to closing. YOUR HOME MUST BE TOTALLY COMPLETE AND ALL BUYER CONCERNS RESOLVED TO YOUR SATISFACTION PRIOR TO CLOSING. In the event that all is not resolved to everyone's satisfaction, we will request an extension to the close date. This could become an issue with title and lending, so we must work closely to see that all is ready for the day you get your keys.
